12th international competition for young accordionists Novi Sad (Serbia) May 8th – 10th 2015

Art. 1
Music centrum AD LIBITUM and NGO EUFONIJA organize 12th International Competition for Young Accordionists STAR WAYS 2015.
Competition will be organized in Novi Sad (Serbia) between May 8th and 10th 2015.
Director of the competiiton is Prof. RADOMIR TOMIC.

Art. 2
I a piano accordions competitors born in 2004 and younger
I b button accordions competitors born in 2004 and younger
I c All types of accordions with FREE basses competitors born in 2004 and younger
II a piano accordions competitors born in 2002 and 2003.
II b button accordions competitors born in 2002 and 2003.
II c All types of accordions with FREE basses competitors born in 2002 and 2003.
III a piano accordions competitors born in 2000 and 2001.
III b button accordions competitors born in 2000 and 2001.
III c All types of accordions with FREE basses competitors born in 2000 and 2001.
IV all types of accordions competitors born in 1998 and 1999.
V all types of accordions competitors born in 1996 and 1997.
VI all types of accordions competitors born in 1991 and younger – students
VII Chamber ensembles up to 8 members
with minimum one accordion competitors born in 2000 and younger
VIII Chamber ensembles up to 8 members
with minimum one accordion competitors born in 1996 and younger
IX Chamber ensembles up to 8 members
with minimum one accordion competitors born in 1991 and younger – students

Winners of STAR WAYS 2014 competition have not right to take part in STAR WAYS 2015 competition in the same categories.

Art. 3
For the competition competitors must to prepare free choice programmes :
Category I 4 to 6 min.
Category II 6 to 8 min.
Category III 8 to 12 min.
Category IV 10 to 15 min.
with minimum one original and one piece composed before 1800
Category V 15 to 20 min.
with minimum one original and one piece composed before 1800
Category VI 20 to 25 min.
with minimum one original and one piece composed before 1800
Category VII up to 10 min.
with minimum one original piece
Category VIII up to 15 min.
with minimum one original piece
Category IX up to 20 min.
with minimum one original piece

Art. 4
International jury with minimum 5 members will be decided by organizer.
Members of jury are working independently and without any consultation with other members of jury.
After first 5 participants in every category jury has a small break for consultation and making the same marking criterions.
All competitors will be judged by marks between 50 and 100. Maximal and minimal marks will be eliminated . Average mark of all other marks is finally mark for every competitor. This marks will be used for making final rank list of the competition in each category. If two or more competitors have the same average mark youngest of them will be the best placed.
Performing (playing) time will be registered by Secretary of jury. Every competitor who will not respect time limit will be penalized (by Secretary of jury !!!) with reduction his/her average mark for 1 point for every minute out of time limit. Competitor who will play 3 or more minutes out of the time limit will be disqualified from the competition.
Results of the competition will be published maximum 30 minutes after finishing each category. Published rank list will include individual marks of all members of jury.
These marks are finally and can not be changed !!!!
Members of jury have duty to explain to every competitors (or his/her teacher) own marks !

Art. 5
All participants with marks 90.00 and more will get Diploma for 1st prize, participants with 80.00 and more will get Diploma for 2nd prize and participants with 70.00 and more will get Diplomas for 3rd prize. All other participants and all teachers will get Diplomas for taking part in the competition.
1st placed participant in any category will be awarded with a cup. If 1st placed competitors have average marks 95.00 or more and in their categories minimum 5 competitors take place, they will be awarded with special prizes. Total sum of all prizes will be more that 2000 E.
First three placed competitors must to play on evening concert after the competition. During the concert all diplomas will be hand over.
Winners in each category must to play on final concert.
Competitors who will not take part in this concert lose their special prizes !!!!

Art 6.
Organizer keeps rights to use all photos and records, made during the competition, for promotion of the competition and for other purposes.

Entry fee for taking part in the competition is

Categories I - VI 35 E
Categories VII - IX 50 E

Abroad participants can pay entry fees when they arrive in Novi Sad !!!

Art. 8
Travel and accommodation expenses has to be covered by competitors.
Organizer is ready to help to all interested competitors to find adequate accommodation during the competition in Novi Sad.

Art. 9
Entry form, birthday certificate and certificate about student status (just for categories VI and IX) have to be sent by March 28th 2015

All entered participants will be informed by April 20th 2015 about time table of the competition.
Playing number for each competitors will be public drawn out 30 minutes before start of each category. Participants (or their represents) should be present during the drawing out the playing numbers.
